Cape Town - The Whales have arrived early!

The whales have been sighted in False Bay already! Normally they only start to arrive closer to August, but they have been sighted already this year!
Much excitement in Fish Hoek, the discerning whale watchers destination of choice.

the whales in the bay

I reckon it might have something to do with the weather patterns changing slightly.
They normally come the Fish Hoek to calve, and dont all arrive at once, maybe this means that this year there will be more whales for a longer time period.

Having grown up in Glencairn, it was nice to see your photos on your website. I was really confused by the Clovelly shot until I saw the arrow pointing out your location on Echo Road!

I used to take the train to school which runs all along the coast from Simon's Town to Muizenberg and I used to watch the whales all the time. It's amazing the things you take for granted from your childhood.

Whales in Cape Town

The best place in the world to see whales from the shore is at Hermanus in Cape town. The best time of the year for this is in August and September. See Cape Town Accommodation for accommodation in Hermanus and more details under 43 things to do in Cape Town.
