I AM A NATIVE SOUTH AFRICAN LIVING IN TEXAS AND DO MISS THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAY OF LIFE AND SCENERY AND THE SOUTH AFRICAN CONVERSATIONS. WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KEEP ABREAST OF ALL THE HAPPENINGS AT HOME. SOUTH AFRICA WILL ALWAYS BE MY HOME NO MATTER WHAT SHE IS CLOSE AND DEAR TO MY HEART. ANYONE HAVE A TRUE BRAAIVLEIS YET THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAY OR COOKED A POT OF CURRY LATELY?

Another S.A in the house.I live in Michigan.There are about 20 of us over here.We have braaivleis, curry, custard,biltong,niknaks, you name it. We also have our anual get togethers.You should check out africanhut.com. Mail me sometime!!!Don't be sad we all feel for each other.

hey I'm not south african but I am teaching myself afrikaans in memory of one of my closest friends. in fact many of my friends are afrikaaner they are au pairs here in pennsylvania. I'm begging you please help me with my afrikaans if that is the language you speak. we can talk as well but help my asseblief

hey I also am not from south africa, but iam 17 years old
im a senior in high school, i come from washingotn. I resently asigned myself to an economic project, and i assigned it on south africa and the jobs and people that live there. I have also been intrested in having a friends from diffrent cultures and all over the world, but if any one would be able to help me out with any information on the south african culture and or the jobs and economic ways of life. thank you and i hope that we could learn alot about each other.

ek hoop ek kry jou aandag! Ek is ook n suid-afrikaner en mis my afrikaans net so donners baie!! Ek bly ook in TX - die dallas area en sal graag meer met jou wil gesels! Op die oomblik is ek by my vriend se huis, wat ook met jou wil praat maar hy verstaan glad nie afrikaans nie!! so, ek gaan my e-pos adres onder aan die brief sit!! Hoe lank is jy al hier,, waar presies is jy en wat doen jy?
ek is n aupair en het ongelukkig net 8 weke oor,, maar ek was al in n hele paar ander plekke in die VSA maar ek is MAL oor Texas en my vriende en my host familie gaan ek baie mis!!
My vriend, Ryan, gaan nou-nou ook so ietsie tik vir jou. Hy sou saam met my SA toe gegaan het, maar as gevolg van omstandighede kan hy nie nou nie. Eintlik is hy van plan om in PE te gaan studeer ( ek is van PE, en jy?)

Hi everyone,
I usually talk on the open board but this site is just as cool. I'm a South-African girl(from PE) living in Texas at the moment as an au pair. But I've been excepted at Circle in the Square Theatre school in New York City, and well, I have trouble getting an apartment. And lately I've heard of quite alot of SA's who's in the US and I would appreciate it if anyone can be of help, who knows someone or somethin I did look into rent.com and apartments.com and got a lot of info, but it cost too much to register and well, i'm still saving to pay my course. But I guess before I go to SA (before NYC)if I haven't found anything, I'll have to do that.

If you want to chat, I am here. I do so miss those long South African chats, the depth of freindships and SOUTH AFRICA. My hubby and I just moved here about a year ago to Chicago, anf luckily for us (more like blessed) we have another South African couple here, so we catch up on the lingo and enjoy! But more freinds would be great, so let me know!!!!!!!
