We lived in the UAE for 10 years and returned home to SA last year. I have since launched a business offering the following services for South African Expats world wide:
Expatshop
I was an expat for so long and missed certain SA products - and we came home infrequently. I decided to develop a safe secure site for SA expats to enable people to get what they need from SA at a reasonable price. My website only contains a selection of products I have access to. I can purchase products at any of our major shops such as PnP, Woolworths, Clicks etc
Sending Gifts in SA
I am also willing to send gifts to loved ones in SA (will be your personal shopper of sorts).
Requests out of the ordinary
I am willing to deal with all kinds of strange requests. A SA in Prague contacted me to see if I would be willing to assist to ship his household contents in JHB to Prague. I am currently looking into this to determine the logistics of this request.
A South African lady in Saudi has asked for help with the logistics of getting a visa into her daughters passport – that also is no problem.
I know how hard it was to get people to attend to business matters in SA - to get things done was a nightmare and then on top of it all the minute they hear you live overseas they just see $ signs!!
We were ripped off by so many people over the years. I thought I could offer my personal services to SA expats and I believe I can deal efficiently with most problems. I will be honest and advise you whether something is out of the scope that I can do.
