YUPPERS!!!! { '..' }
I have to agree with Christel. There is alot of people that use their past or bad homelife as an excuse not to succeed, especially in the US. But lately I too have seen the will that young Sout Africans have to live their dreams and reach their goals.
I didn't come from a very rich family, but I've been able to come to the US right after school and be an au pair. But it wasn't that easy. I also, like lot of others, had so much trouble to deal with in the 3 months before I came here, that everything just seemed like a dream and wishful thinking. And worst of all, I lost my faith in God because I thought He turned his back on me or that I've been punished. Actually I dont know what I was thinking, but I had a rough time believing that I will succeed in whatever I wanted to do and that He's still with me.... yet, I held on and was not able to just sit back and think, 'come what may'.
Yes, i do love children, but I also needed to get away and decide what to do with my life, who I wanted involved in my life and make peace with some issues.
Now my year as an aupair is at the end and as I look back, It's amazing to see how much God have blessed me and there's not one day that goes by without me praising Him and giving thanks: i made friends for life, had a wonderful host family with 4 adventurous children, I was able to continue my acting , and I met a true love. Now, i've also been excepted at a very famous Broadway Theatre School in NYC.
Before I make this message too long, I'll end with this: no matter how dark your life may seem, no matter what people did to you or how uncertain and scary life can be<,,,
DO NOT EVER STOP REACHING FOR YOUR GOALS AND TURNING YOUR DREAMS INTO REALITY!! AND BEST OF ALL, DONT LOSE FAITH!!!
Everybody has a great amount of potential to create a wonderful life and your past or 'the hand you were dealt' shouldn't stop you from fulfilling your dreams.
