Hi, I'm unfamiliar with Afrikaans, and am currently starting at the very basics. Does anyone else have any tips, advice etc on coming to grips with this language?
If you are interested in learning Afrikaans in South Africa, you can contact me at any time.
I am a qualified language practitioner who teaches Afrikaans to expatriates (among others) in South Africa.
I'm currently doing research in the field of Afrikaans as Foreign or Second Language and I'm designing Afrikaans multimedia language courses for learners on different levels.
It's pretty phonetic, the trick is coming to grips with what the actual sounds are. Some, like the "g" are very hard to find equivalents for in english.
