Help! I want to learn Afrikaans

Can anybody help me! Please!??? I really want to learn Afrikaans but don't seem to get very far! I have tried courses such as Linguaphone etc but find it really difficult as I have no one to practice with. Does any one kow of any classes run in the Glasgow area or if you have any books or notes that would help.

Jenny,

I'm sure there are lots of South Africans living in Glasgow, many of them Afrikaans. See if you can pick up a copy of the South African Times UK and consider placing an ad in it if you don't find any "South African gatherings" advertised in its pages.

Failing that, you can visit the Kudu Club and you should be able to access a few South African radio stations. At least one of them is an Afrikaans station. You might also be able to access 5-minute long TV snippets, but you'll have to make an account (they don't spam you so it's okay to give them your email address).

Ches

Some of the Koh Samui villas are set on peaceful hills adjoining sea. So, when a sea wave hits the big boulders below, you are actually able to experience some butterflies in your stomachs. Such is the experience of the exotic locales where these Samui villas are located. The villas are located in peaceful places, but not much far from action. You can anytime visit the flee market to buy exotic sea shells, or belts made from fish’s skin for you dear and near ones.
