HELLO, ONCE AGAIN IT IS FREDERICK. I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT CERTAIN SARAFINA! SONG LYRICS. IN ONE SONG THEY ARE SINGING AT THE FUNERAL OF SOME OF THE DEAD CHILDREN THAT WERE SHOT BY THE SOLDIERS. THE ENGLISH WORDS WERE: God, I'm poor. I'm giving myself to you. Amen. I WAS WONDERING WHAT EXACTLY WERE THEY SAYING IN ZULU OR WHATEVER LANGUAGE IT WAS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE SAYING IN THAT LANGUAGE. ANOTHER SONG WAS THE SONG WHEN THEY WERE TAKING THE CHILDREN TO THE PRISON. THE ENGLISH WORDS WERE: The nation is crying. The cattle are gone. The old men are prisoners. The young men have fled. Only women and babies in Soweto. Weep for the pain of Africa. THE LYRICS WERE ON THE LINES OF THAT NATURE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE SAYING IN THAT LANGUAGE ALSO. THE NEXT SONG WAS WHEN THEY WERE IN THE PRISON CELLS AND THEY WERE SINGING. THE ENGLISH WORDS WERE: The Black Nation is dying. Who will lead us to the day of peace. The Black Nation is crying. Oh, Mama, I am crying for the day of peace. I WOULD, ONCE AGAIN, LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE SAYING IN THAT LANGUAGE. THERE IS ANOTHER SONG ON THE SOUNDTRACK CALLED FREEDOM IS COMING TOMORROW WHICH I WANT THE LYRICS TO. I WOULD ALSO LOVE THE LYRICS TO Nkosi sikeli iAfrika (God save Africa). I THINK I SPELLED IT RIGHT BUT I AM SERIOUSLY DOUBTING I DID. WELL, THAT IS ALL AND I'M SORRY TO ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS BUT THERE IS SO MUCH I WANTED TO KNOW AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME!

This is the wonderful song Isizwe (the first that you asked):
Safa saphela isizwe esimyama
O' safa isizwe sabantsundu
Anitsheleni iinkokheli zenu zisilamulele kuloludaba

I don't speak Zulu and I don't know what these words mean. Are you sure that this means:
God, I'm poor. I'm giving myself to you. Amen. ?

However, I would like to have the lyrics of these songs too If somebody can help us I would really apreciate

You helped me! You are talking about a different song in Sarafina! The lyrics you gave me were the lyrics to the song they were singing when they were in prison. They were singing it when they were alll behind bars. Those lyrics you gave me mean: THE BLACK NATION IS CRYING. OH, MAMA, I AM CRYING FOR THE DAY OF PEACE. I really want to know what those other songs mean too. What is your e-mail address? We can work together and try to figure out what those mean. But the translation I had earlier was the right translation of the works because that's what the subtitle said. E-mail me back at BeyonceLover86 and reply to this post. Thanks!

I'm sorry but I'm Italian and I don't speak Zulu, so I wouldn't be very useful to understand what these words mean.
However, they sang this song after they killed Sabela. They sang another song when they where in prison...After I'll watch the video and I'll tell you.

I have the video and I recently watched it. The lyrics to the song you gave me weren't the lyrics to the song they sang at the funeral of the kids who were shot long after they killed Sabela. The lyrics you gave me matched the song they sang in Prison andi previously gave you the translation. I don't speak Zulu either but together we can figure out what the lyrics to the song they sang at the funeral of the kids are. Do you know what they are saying in Zulu? On the video the translation is begin shown in the subtitlesas they are singing so there is the English translation for you. I want to know what they are saying in Zulu. We'll get those lyrics yet!

Yes, yes, you're right
I watched the video. They sang this song when they were in prison. I would like to know what they were saying when they was in cars that brought them to prison. The title of the song is Sechaba and the song is wonderful!!
However, I don't have the subtitles on my video. My Sarafina! is in Italian and they didn't put the subtitles.

Hi guys, you are so confused.Whoopi I must compliment you on your Zuku spellings, makes me doubt if you are honestly Italian and not a Zulu like me.Frederick, hi there big boy.You are so ypung and yet you have such amazing interests;the history of your African ancestors, the correct lyrics to the songs in the movie Sarafina. I can help you, however it's been a while since I last saw the movie. You can also get acopy of your own CD by purchasing it @ Virgin Records in NY(that's where I bought mine) or go to http://www.oneworld.co.za and go to catalogue and go to soundtracks. In the meantime, I'll help you with your Zulu alright?
