Yes... but most jokes and movies are funny when something bad happens to someone..... just look at bugs bunny and road runner and things like that.... I'm sure humour related to someones misfortune quantitively outways "clean" humour.

Anyway.... the point you are trying to make that we should not laugh at other peoples misfortunes is a good one... it is not moral etc. and only bad people laugh at others misfortunes... all true....

I guess I am just a bad person for thinking that that is funny.... but I can laugh though when people rip me off so I think it is fair.

I shouldn't be the one telling you not to laugh, because I laugh at peoples misfortunes all the time (in jokes and movies, etc.)So let me change my phrase. What I ment to say is that, soe jokes about misfortunes are very funy, but others are just cruel. As you mentioned, Bugs Bunny is just violence, but funny. Some jokes are funny, but are just wrong, but we still laugh, so I guess it's just human nature. We are beings that laugh at other's problems. And by the way, when I heard that joke about a year ago, I laughed for quite a while. And how can it be portrayed as Racist, theres nothing Racist about it, the joke is about the flodding and the people hiding in trees. I mean, if it was white people in the trees, I would still laugh. And how the hell can GREEN be portrayed as Racist, I've never heard of GREEN people. *Explicitely says green* If that is racist, then my brain must be rotting. Racist my foot, it is a joke, LEARN TO LAUGH.

i also laugh at jokes made of other peoples misfortunes, so i shouldn't point fingers either ,my perception of the joke was racial(i am not to sure about racist) and that of making fun of other peoples misfortunes.. to put it bluntly i saw a tree with 40 white gleaming eyes.. the people where camflouged because of their colour that shaded in with the colour of the bark of the tree.

I am not a racist, but thats just what saw

i wonder why it is we laugh at those types of jokes. our nature? Could be. it also could be learned though? does anyone think that we gain anything good from laughing at jokes like that... or do we harm ourselves and others by laughing at those types of jokes?
just a question ... i myself don't really know, i think it is both of the above though.

It's human nature. PLUS, some of those jokes are so funny because they are original and witty AND creative.

Hello Doccy!

Here's a western joke:

How many Americans does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Four. One to actually to repair it, two to mix the drinks, and one more to ramble about how nothing was wrong with the the broken light bulb.
