Hey I'm a 18 year old blond american girl. I know everyone wants to meet a south african and learn about their culture and study them like they are some sorta science project, and well i sure hope there's a south african left out there for me... I've only seen pictures of South Africa and it's absolutly BEAUTIFUL. It puts parts of America to shame; dont get me wrong I love America, but it's not SA. The way my friends Noel and Bryan (south africans) talk about SA it makes me jelous. I want to live there one day... well either there or australia... anyone out there willing to change my mind , eh? You know, I know this sounds crazy, but is there anyone out there willing to teach me a little bit of simple Africaan or Zulu?? PLEASE!! Just some simple phrases, Im a fast learner!

Hey Carly
Had to say, you're message made me smile. I always find it interesting when people from other countries sound so excited about SA. I am born and bred a South African and lived there for most of my life. Also travelled all over it - so I've seen quite alot. I am now married to a British woman, and for many reasons, we currently live in England but who knows, in a few years time we may go back.
SA is a stunningly beautiful country and people on the whole, I really friendly. I have some great sites I can send to you if you want to learn more about SA.
If you want to learn, say Afrikaans - well, go to this site:
http://www.eurotalk.co.uk/welcome.html
I think there may be an American version of this site but I'm speaking under correction.
I just got my wife two of the CD-ROMS, i.e. Learn Afrikaans (Talk Now) and Learn Afrikaans (World Talk). As someone who speaks Afrikaans, I highly recommend them and they are really cheap.
If you want to chat sometime, I am on AOL IM (ozbro2536), ICQ (20253245), Yahoo (ozbro) and MSN (marco_franse).
In any case, do visit SA someday. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Cheers
Marco

hi!!
I know,no other country is quite like SA,I think it is quite sad because us poor souls looking for some connection to our beautiful country wich we for some reason have been made or just have, left, have to use the internet of all things in the world to do it...whereas all,or most of, the lucky people actually living there, just take it forgranted and even complain about crime and povity and stuff, its not fair,I want to go home, and i will as soon as school is finished,so to all you guys living in SA right now,you are so lucky to be living in the best country in the world, never forget that!!!

Hey I lived in Austrailia for a year and SA. for 3 years! I think SA is much better its so much fun! But im only 15 so... but if you move there or something move to a safe place, when I lived there my house keepers friend was stabbed by a screw driver! but dont get scared of that please! That was my very favorite place I moved I hear now they have a mall that has a pool and stuff in it! And they have sun city thats a waterpark its fun! If you want to move somewhere good Id choose Johanasburg i dont think i spelled it right but its close! I lived there its the best!!! Email me if you wanna chat bye!
