Are you a South African that has left South Africa and is considering returning home? Or are you someone looking for a better standard of living and thinking about moving to South Africa.

My husband and I are fortunate to have residency for both the UK and Australia, but because we both grew up in Africa (Kenya and South Africa) we can't help but feel that South Africa is home despite all its "problems".

Is there anyone out there that has already made the move (back) to South Africa? How has it been? Is there anyone out there like us, that are considering the move but are unsure? What are your thoughts/doubts?

It would be great to hear your views, concerns, etc.

Cheers,
Rafiki

Hi'

I note that you state that you have residency of both U.K. and Austrailia but no mention of S.A..

The reason that I state this to you, is not knowing your respective ages one can only assume that you would be expected to enter as "Self Supporting'" I can only suggest that you access the "Home Page," of "Dept of Home Affairs'" also available through this web site and consider all options open to you before making any move.

Speaking from experiance.

I am Irish, married to an S.A. citzen with two S.A. dependents and for me to enter to S.A. is a majour night mare.

I wish you all the luck in the world as it is a beautifull place to live (once given the oppertunity) but if all the t's are not crossed and the i's dotted before your move you are in for a hard struggle.

Regards

Gilbert

Hi Gilbert,

My husband is an SA citizen and I am British. If and when we decided to settle in SA, I will be applying for the relevant settlement visa, via the Dept of Home Affairs, which I think currently costs £1500 or there abouts. I'm told it can take up to 6 months to obtain.

If and when we settle in SA we'll be heading for Cape Town where we both have family, although Jo'burg is an option as some of my Husbands family are also based there.

Kind regards,
R.

Some of the Koh Samui villas are set on peaceful hills adjoining sea. So, when a sea wave hits the big boulders below, you are actually able to experience some butterflies in your stomachs. Such is the experience of the exotic locales where these Samui villas are located. The villas are located in peaceful places, but not much far from action. You can anytime visit the flee market to buy exotic sea shells, or belts made from fish’s skin for you dear and near ones.
