My husband & I are from the US and will be flying into Durban in a week. It will be our first time in SA. We'll have a rental car and will be driving to Kruger for a few days, then return to Durban.

We are both avid surfers, divers & hikers. Though waves may not be peaking at the time, does anyone have any recommended surf spots or shops, as we don't plan to lug our boards over?

Also, in terms of general safety do you have any tips on highway safety going from Durban to Kruger & up & down the coast north of Durban ?? What are the most recommended places to visit in Durban? Thanks for all your help!

Hi

Hope the weather clears up for you. My sisters just got back from Durban and its been raining non stop.

I suggest you get in touch with the tourism information burueau in Durbs. I'm actually not familiar with the North coast we always holiday on the South, but I know Umhlanga & Balito are very popular.

There are plenty of shopping centers in and around Durban so you shouldn't have any problem getting hold of a surfboard.

As for the highway trip. Avoid travelling at night and if you do only stop at a petrol station not at the side of the road.

Some of the Koh Samui villas are set on peaceful hills adjoining sea. So, when a sea wave hits the big boulders below, you are actually able to experience some butterflies in your stomachs. Such is the experience of the exotic locales where these Samui villas are located. The villas are located in peaceful places, but not much far from action. You can anytime visit the flee market to buy exotic sea shells, or belts made from fish’s skin for you dear and near ones.
