Hi there, we have recently moved from Sunny Durban to wet England. We are trying to adjust to life here and would appreciate hearing from other South Africans that have adapted to life in the UK. We miss our life in Durban and would like to chat with others that feel the same. Any emails or comments would be wellcomed.

Hi there, and welcome to lovely wet and miserable UK. I'm a huge sharks fan, but having left Durban when I was 17 to head to Canada for the next 13 years, I also appreciate all the other sports and thankfully aclimatised to the cold there. I have been in Oxford now for the past 2 and a half years, having married a Brit.

I have found the easiest way to adjust to life outside of SA is to jump in head first into the culture of the country you are in now. The good thing is holidays back to SA will be awesome value now that you are earning rands.

Best of luck settling in and thankfully the summers are usually great here.
