Girls girls
I think American woman are awesome. I think South African woman are awesome and so are the woman from other parts of the world. Every country has its good and bad but to generalize about a country and its people shows nothing but your own lack of experience. I'm sure if you travel to these places you'll see beauty and intelligence far beyond your imagination.
And no need to tell us about your girlfriend being an ex model etc...we don't care. If you're happy with her and shes happy with you then thats all that matters. No need to convince us...it shows insecurity.

Yo, secondly, we're not some species, or oriental cuisine to be evaluated and compared like this. Don't you people have anything better to do?

Being an American girl is great but I have to get this off of my chest... My mom works 70+ hours a week and let me tell you she makes quite a bit of money. However, she forgets something that I know many SA women do not forget ---her children---. Since I was in the 1st grade (6-7 years old) my mom has worked that much. I cannot remember having a dinner with my family on a weeknight since before that. What I can remember is when I arrived home from school having a check made out to order pizza/teriyaki/fast food for all of my grade school years. I finally figured out that this isn't *normal* when I met my boyfriend. He was born and raised in Johannesburg and recently moved here to the states. His mom does work, but a decent amount of hours with weekends off and she does cook dinner every night. Now she is a woman that I truly look up to and fully respect. America is a freedom filled nation w/lot of opportunity, but I think it has lost many of it's values on the way.

Let me clarify some things, Samanthia. I'm an American girl, age 22. I will get married next year. As far as your issue about American women "abandoning" their families: Have you ever stopped to think that maybe it's their families who want them to go to school and pursue a successful career? It is true, however, that there are some American women who choose to have a successful career rather than a husband and children. It's not immoral or wrong not to have a family if you don't want to. It depends on the person. So, before you make anymore assumptions about us (American Women), you had better get your sources straight before we start to think you are jealous.....

Um...Back on topic
I am a South African, born and raised, who ahs lived in the U.S. for ten years in places including Los Angeles, Denver, Santa Fe, Portland and NYC.
My commentary is this: South African girls are less like;y to be turned on by money and superficial elements. As a whole I find them beautiful, committed, loving and wholesome. For the most part, the American women I have met have been, well, very AMERICAN. By this, I mean that they are slaves to an idealized idea of beauty, overspend, tend to look at men with suspicion, and for the most part have been badly abused either emotionally or physically by some jerk or other by the time they hit 25. As a result relationships with American girls tend to be schizophrenic and complicated at best.
That's my two cents.
