Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert
After the raging success of the first 46664 Concert in 2004, a second concert was been arranged for early in 2005.
The Master of Ceremonies of the 2005 46664 Concert was non other than rapper/movie star Will Smith. Straight from his hit movie "Hitch", the fresh prince jetted in to fill the position as Master of Ceremonies for the 2005 concert.
Will Smith introduced world-famous artists such as Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor, collaborating for the first time with Paul Rogers from the group Bad Company. Other international performers included Annie Lennox, Katie Melua, and India Arie. The best of local talent, also introduced by Will Smith, was showcased at the concert. They included Johnny Clegg, Black Sunshine, Mafikizolo, Prime Circle, Art Matthews (Just Jinger), Karen Zoid, Kabelo, Mel Botes, Mandoza and Danny K.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation's 46664 Campaign aims to generate funds in the continuing battle against AIDS/HIV in South Africa. The concert took place in George, which is situated along the beautiful Garden Route, on the 19th of March 2005.
