Check Out the African Iron Horse Rodeo

The African Iron Horse Rodeo to be held at the Pretoria Show Grounds in South Africa from 12 to 14 October 2007 promises to be a memory-making event with a program that is aimed at bikers, offering a large variety of exhibits for motorcycle fans. This is not just a bikers rally though, because the program promises to have something for every member of the family to enjoy. A large percentage of the profits from the event will be going to charities that receive ongoing support from African Iron Horse Rodeo through Steelwings.

The gates open at 8:00 am on Friday 12 October and from 9:00 am bikers can start the day off by having their steeds washed and polished at Maverick’s Bikini Bike Wash. South African musicians and bands that will be entertaining the crowds throughout the day include Brian Finch Band, Wonderboom and Bloodmoney.

Saturday starts of once again with the Bikini Bike Wash and then the public can start voting for the winner of the African Bike Build Off. Entertainment for the day will include Henk de Kat and well-known South African comedian Barry “The Cousin” Hilton. At 1:00 pm visitors can meet the Teutuls from the United States. Paul John Teutul, Sr. is the founder of Orange County Choppers. Paul John Teutul along with his sons Paul, Jr, and Michael rose to fame in 2002 when Orange County Choppers became the subject of the reality television series, “American Chopper”. Four custom built motorcycles will be auctioned off at 6:30 pm and the day ends with a performance from popular South African band, Prime Circle.

Sunday promises to be another fun-filled day with entertainment provided by Eddie Eksteen & The Bats, The Kalahari Orkes, DJ James and more.

Throughout this exciting event there will be displays and stunts by well known biker daredevils. A number of competitions will be running with excellent prizes up for grabs. There will be all things bike-related for sale at show-special prices, as well as “Toys for boys” and “Goodies for girls”.

So whether you are a biker, are related to a biker or are considering becoming a biker, head for the African Iron Horse Rodeo and join in the fun.
