Cape Good Food & Wine Show 2008

Cape Town is a diverse city in South Africa, with a vast mixture of cultures that add color and energy to the beauty of this vibrant destination. From the 15th to the 18th of May 2008, Cape Town will be host to the spectacular Cape Good Food & Wine Show. A culinary extravaganza, featuring demonstrations, testing, interactive workshops, cold beer, wine, cocktails and seafood, will come to life at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Kitchen theatres, equipped with the latest appliances and culinary technology, will allow visitors to this festival of food to see some of the big names in world of cuisine as they create tasty masterpieces. Not only is it an opportunity for the public to taste some of the gourmet dishes but a chance to learn a few cooking secrets from top chefs.

Some of chefs who will be lending their expertise and skills to the Cape Good Food & Wine Show include Brian Turner, an acclaimed British chef and BBC Chef, and Andrew Nutter, who will be hosting the Organics Forum, promoting healthy eating habits and a better overall lifestyle. The well loved Hairy Bikers, Simon King and Dave Myers, will also be attending, as well as the Irish beauty Rachel Allen. Another BBC favorite, Stefan Gates, will attend the festival to give South Africa a hands on glimpse of his Full on Food show. Inviting visitors into the fascinating realms of Indian Cuisine, Cyrus Todiwala will be available to share some of his popular dishes.

Organizers have ensured that all the exhibition theatres and exhibitors stands are of the highest quality. There are many highlights to look forward to, such as the Celebrity Chefs Theatre, Great Wine Tasting and Sale, the Kahlua Coffee Theatre, the Eastern Mosaic Pavilion, the National Classic Cocktail Competition 2008/2009, the Best South African Restaurants Chefs Theatre, Cooks and the Books, the LG Hands On Workshop, Gino Ginelli Decadent Theatre, and the Theatre of Passion Food.

Tickets to this wonderful festival of food can either be booked or purchased online, or at the doors of the Cape Good Food & Wine Show. Adult tickets are sold for R75.00 per person and children under the age of twelve, and pensioners, pay R35.00. This ticket includes free food tasting and wine sampling, with access to live demonstrations and theatres. There are also breathtaking prizes being given away over the weekend. For a culinary experience like no other, the all are encouraged to visit the festival and lend their support to their favorite chefs.
